Say it, and it types. Nothing leaves the house.
Hold a key, talk, let go. Your words appear wherever you're typing, turned into text by whisper.cpp on your own computer. Free and open source.
On the Mac today. Windows and Linux in beta.
Swipe the house to look around.
Hold, speak, let go.
Hold the key, say what you want to write, and let go. Utter types it wherever your cursor is: Mail, Slack, Notes, your browser, your editor.
- Double-tap the key for hands-free. It stops after 3 seconds of quiet.
- Press Esc to cancel at any time.
- No text box selected? Your words wait on the pill, with Copy and Save as note.
Twenty-three seconds of Utter.
Hold the key, say it, let go. The reel shows the whole thing, from the pill lighting up to the words landing in the app you were already using.
Meetings, written down in the order they happened.
Your mic is "You". The computer's sound is "Others". Every turn lands in the transcript in the order it was said.
- When your mic hears the call through your speakers, Utter drops the echo. Headphones keep it cleanest.
- Pause and resume whenever you like.
- When a Zoom, Teams, Webex, Slack or Discord call starts, Utter offers to record it, and stops when the call ends.
Your words, spelled your way.
Teach Utter the names and terms it gets wrong, and it spells them the way you do. Say a trigger and a whole snippet types itself.
- Snippets fill in [date], [time], [datetime], [day] and [clipboard] as they type.
- Voice commands: "delete that", "new line", "new paragraph", "select all", "copy that", "new note", "continue the note".
- Spoken punctuation, if you want it: say "comma" or "question mark".
Every day is a tape.
Your dictations land on today's tape: Side A for the morning, Side B for the afternoon. Notes and meetings sit beside them in the Library.
A robot that keeps you company.
It perks up while you talk and naps when you don't. It can remind you to stretch, drink water or take a focus break, keep the things you tell it with the Remember shortcut, and cheer when you reach today's goal.
It has over a hundred small moments, each one tied to something that really happens. Optional, and off until you turn it on.
Robot by CX ArtLab.
Your voice stays home.
Audio is never written to disk or uploaded. whisper.cpp turns it into text right on your computer, so it works offline, with no account and no analytics. Crash reports stay with you, and the only download is a speech model you choose.
Pick the engine that fits.
Small, in English, comes with Utter and works offline from the first minute. Base is the smallest, Medium is best on technical terms, and Large Turbo covers 99 languages and handles accents best. The optional ones download from Hugging Face and are checked by SHA-256 before Utter uses them.
Catch it on your computer.
On the Mac now: macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Windows 10 and 11 and Linux x64, as an AppImage or .deb, are in beta. You can pick a different hold key in Settings.
Your letter is in the post.
Thanks, friend. We'll email you when there's a beta spot for your computer.

What about the Apple Intelligence features?
Voice transforms like "make it concise" and meeting summaries use Apple Intelligence, so they're on the Mac only, where Apple Intelligence is available.
